Pity the poor automaker: Because of their long production leads, by the time the car actually hits the road the technology that looked good when they started is hopelessly out of date. But Chevrolet is trying a different tack by bringing on a bevy of programmers, hosting their own hackathons, and figuring out a way to add in its tech components at the end of the process rather than the beginning. There's still a ways to go when it comes to in-car apps, but with GM rolling out embedded 4G LTE mobile broadband in all of its 2015 models, and the Corvette Stingray and Silverado being named the Car and Truck of the Year, respectively, it seems that the automaker is headed in the right direction.
