7 Pint-Size Hotels That Are High on Design and Luxury

What these accommodations lack in square footage they more than make up for in style.

There's a new wave of hotels that boast the best in first-class travel: high design, luxe amenities, five-star service, and buzzy restaurants and bars—but they all stop short on one thing, size. It's a trend that's resonating with both property developers and guests alike. Hoteliers can increase their revenue by creating more rooms, while guests can spend less on a room without sacrificing on quality.

Here are seven new locations where we want to squeeze in a reservation.

The Marlton | New York City
Rooms start at 100 square feet.

Located in a historic Greenwich Village building that writer Jack Kerouac once called home, this latest project from famed hotelier Sean MacPherson picked up buzz this year as the city's stylish set packed into its restaurant and bar, Margaux. But even more noteworthy are the Marlton's Parisian-inspired quarters. Elegant, old-world touches like velour headboards, brass fixtures, marble bathrooms, and herringbone wood floors speak to the hotel's witty tagline: "Honey, I Shrunk the Ritz."
