I grew up on Long Island. When I was 16, I took a high-school program at FIT, and ended up going there for college. But most of my background, actually, is in womenswear. I worked at Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and also had my own line called Wyeth—it was sold at Barney's and Bergdorf's'—for about five years. And I just got to the point where I wanted to do menswear. It was a conscious decision. That's when I started freelancing here.
