There's a lot of goop out there you could put in your hair, but all you really need are the ones below.
Unless your hair's shorter than a quarter of an inch, you should be using conditioner every few days. It'll make your hair less stiff and unruly (this is especially good if you have any grays, which tend to be brittle), cutting the time it takes to tame your hair in half.
Pomade or Wax
For when you want to look slick and polished, smooth your hair back with a hard-packed beeswax-based product. But don't use more than a dime-size dab (any more can look greasy).
Use this paste to make your hair look effortlessly tousled and choppy, but not shiny. Rub a nickel-size amount between the palms of your hands before raking it through your hair so it doesn't clump in it.
