Alexander McQueen and Puma Team Up For a Museum-Quality Soccer Cleat

For the soccer lover who truly has everything—especially a functional pair of shoes.

Alexander McQueen and Puma have been collaborating for years, but their latest joint project—a handmade soccer cleat—is among the most beautiful products they've ever created together.

The making of this shoe, a limited-edition all leather version of Puma's King cleat, was carefully documented in a four-and-a-half minute video. In it, you hear the voice of one of the shoemakers talking about why craftsmanship is so important. "The human work involved in this product gives a sort of soul to the product," he says wistfully. "A life to the product."

The product couldn't be better timed for the football frenzy the World Cup is about to throw the world into. We haven't been able to tell whether these sneakers are available yet—or how much they'll cost if they are—but we'll be sure to update this post when we know.

For now, take a look at the process of creating this shoe below.
