Atelier NYC's YSL Capsule Collection Offers Luxe Gothic Goods for Fall

For the second time, one of New York's best menswear purveyors teams up with the storied French label for a trip to the dark side.

In all of New York City, there is perhaps no store that represents high-end menswear better than Atelier NYC. An in all the world, there is perhaps no label that promotes a chic, high-end vision of men's fashion better than Yves Saint Laurent. So when we found photos of Atelier's second collaborative capsule collection with YSL on Slamxhype, we had to take pause.Their first joint venture in Spring 2010 featured key YSL pieces redesigned specifically for Atelier's aesthetic. This collection repeats the austere black from the last year — albeit in a darker hue for the fall season. Crafted from from wool and silk, these sweaters, pants, and jumpsuits are classic French style tailored to Atelier NYC's sophisticated, slightly gothic sensibility. The cape-like jacket features a long silhouette, a double-ended zipper, and an oversize collar. The pants sport a tied waist similar to that of a women's wrap-around skirt. Even the cardigan offers a taste of the dark side with its safety pin-style closure. All of the above should be available later this year at the store or through Atelier's website, just in time for the long, dark nights of fall and winter.
