Stationary exercise machines tend to be complex, and that leads us to believe they deliver complex results—but when it comes to working out, it's the simple tools that offer unparalleled results. The new PrMotion FTS, which is already in more than 100 health clubs nationwide (including Crunch and New York City's Chelsea Piers), just might be the most elementary tool: a cage, basically, equipped with bars, straps, and cables. If it looks like a jungle gym, that's the idea. Call it the anti-bench: You do all the work while on your feet. "We spend too much of our time sitting on a chair already," says the FTS's creator, Jorge Bonnet. "Why do you want to go to the gym and sit down to a selectorized, pin-loaded weight machine?"
