Description: Diets that require you to count every morsel of food are incredibly frustrating and, ultimately, unsustainable, but Juice measures your overall health and energy, which is, well, good overall. Instead of logging every calorie eaten and burned off, users can rate exercise, sleep, nutrition, and other aspects of life's daily stresses to track daily progress without adding guilt.
The app also automatically sets a reminder to input your statistics, which can be done in under a minute, thanks to an easy spin-the-bottle interface. Once you log your stats for each day, health, fitness, and other experts weigh in with relevant pop-up tips in each category, including nutrition, strength training, and how to sleep better.
Much like a complete lifestyle change, this app is something you'll want to stick with.
Pros: Juice allows users to break out of their typical diet monitoring and into a user-friendly, general health and energy tracker. Its simplicity, fun design, and tips that are actually helpful will make this app part of your regular health regimen.
Cons: Juice doesn't account for the times when you're sick and just want to sprawl out on the couch, but at least seeing the name pop up in your daily alarm will remind you to stock up on OJ and vitamin C. Our main issue with it—and with any non-universal app— is its iOS-only platform. Can't we all just get along?
