Cartier's new line of men's leather goods includes a messenger bag that costs more than a year's tuition at Princeton. And it is just glorious.
The $46,300 all-black bags are cut from crocodile skin and, according to a Cartier representative, take about 20 hours to make. But they're a limited edition item—only 10 were produced. If you don't manage to get your hands on one of them, a calfskin version retails for meager-by-comparison $2,780.
Both bags belong to the jewelry house's new Louis Cartier collection of leather wares, which also includes a $4,050 weekender and a $3,400 document holder. (It's worth noting that the brand also recently launched a women's leather goods line named for its former handbag designer, Jeanne Toussaint. The most expensive piece in it is a $14,800 handbag, which is just a little more than one-third of the price of the bad boy pictured above.)
Bear in mind that this messenger isn't even the most expensive men's bag on the market. That honor, according to our research, belongs to Domenico Vacca's $48,000 crocodile travel bag. But who wants to wait for your next trip to carry a prize accessory when you can take one to work every day instead?
