Meet Patrick Janelle, the CFDA's First Instagrammer of the Year

And get ready to be really jealous of his life.

As of posting time, Patrick Janelle (winner of the CFDA's inaugural Instagrammer of the Year Award) had 125,270 followers on the photo-driven social media platform. But if you're not one of the many thousands of people who keeps tabs on this particular influencer, here's a primer on what makes him so alluring.

Janelle's feed, which you can find at @aguynamedpatrick, beat seven other highly followed accounts for the top prize. His photos manage to do what all Instagrammers wish their snaps would: inspire envy. It's hard not to look at Janelle's images of his beautiful surroundings, well-composed meals, and the gallons of cortados, machiattos, and cappuccinos he regularly consumes (in gloriously lit surroundings, of course) without feeling like he's having more fun than you are. Or at least that he's eating way, way better.

But the man does have an eye for imagery. Since 2006 he's been working as a graphic designer for everyone from Toyota to Bon Appetit. Most recently, he and two friends joined together to start the Spring Street Social Society, which aims to bring people together in new and inventive ways. In March, he threw a dinner that included a performance by the Ballet Hispanico and a group of singing busboys. "They were all former Yale Whiffenpoofs," he told The Wall Street Journal. "That was the final reveal."

As part of his nomination for the CFDA Award, Janelle was paired with designer Thom Browne (also a nominee, but for the Menswear Designer of the Year trophy) to create a series of images. We've pulled together a few highlights from his account that will more than likely make you want to follow him. Hey, if it's good enough for the CFDA...
