If you've passed the sculptural-glass façade of the Dior Homme boutique in midtown Manhattan recently, you may have noticed that it's currently shuttered for renovation. It's slated to reopen this fall, but in the meantime we'd like to make a suggestion, should you be on the hunt for the brand's legendary denim (or, for that matter, anything from its sublimely minimal spring/summer collection): Stop by the Dior pop-up store in SoHo.
The space features classic design elements that include an exposed-brick arcade, lofty ceilings, and a rear skylight, complemented by slick modern finishes (white Parsons shelving, Donald Judd-esque benches, polished glass vitrines). It's a fitting physical embodiment of Dior Homme's uniquely street take on high French luxury. Furthermore, we hear that this might be a little experiment for the house—a permanent downtown location could be in the works, provided the new locale resonates with customers. Something tells us it will.
