Ten years after founding the Parisian fashion and music brand Maison Kitsuné, designers Gildas Loaec and Masaya Kuroki are opening the doors to their first dedicated U.S. store this week. Located in the retail space attached to the Jacques Garcia-designed NoMad Hotel (his first in New York), the shop will carry a full assortment of the brand's apparel and accessories, as well as bags by WANT les Essentiels de la Vie, grooming products by Aesop, and a shoe collaboration with J.M. Weston.
Maison Kitsuné has developed something of a cult status in America; with its decidedly French take on mid-century East Coast style, it's a great go-to for a cooler version of the preppy basics probably already in your closet. It's mid-April, which means it's time to stock up on warm-weather essentials, and the brand's washed M65 jackets, trim cotton chinos, and striped oxfords are a fine place to start.
