Before you catch on-the-rise French artist Agathe de Bailliencourt next week at New York City's RH Contemporary Art (April 18-June 21), the gallery recently launched by Restoration Hardware, here's what you need to know about her work.

In 2004, she collaborated with cult French fashion label Comme de Garçons on a limited-edition collection of T-shirts sold in Tokyo.

Her drawings and paintings have been exhibited internationally from Singapore to Tokyo and most recently in Marfa, Texas.

Until she was 11, she lived across from the Musée Rodin in Paris and played in the museum gardens surrounded by masterpieces like Rodin's Le Penseur and Les Bougeois de Calais almost every day.

If you're in New York City on May 1, you can bid to own one of her pieces yourself. A pastel drawing from 2009 will be auctioned at the American Friends of the Louvre's Victoire! Young Patrons Circle Gala to support the renowned French institution.
