Where to Find the Future Menswear Designers Before They Hit It Big

You're going to be buying their clothes one day soon, so you might as well get to know them now.

We need to talk about the pool of menswear talent competing in this year's Parsons and Kering's Empowering Imagination contest. Because these kids are good.

A little backstory: the design school (where Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford studied) and the French fashion conglomerate (it owns Saint Laurent, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen) have sponsored this competition every year for the past three. The school whittles down its graduating class to a group of 14 finalists who present their wares to a panel of judges. At the end of it all, two are awarded with internships at one of Kering's many iconic brands.

But this year is really great for men's clothes. Style.com has been releasing information about the group for the past few weeks, and half of the 10 students who have been revealed as finalists so far make duds for dudes, whereas last year, only two of the 14 student designers worked in menswear.

The winners will be announced on June 2. Until then, you can explore the work of the people who you might be buying from someday right here.
