No jeans 'til Brooklyn?

The week's top stories in fashion news.

If there are any Brooklynites suffering from a dearth of denim, Diesel's new pop-up shop in Williamsburg, which opens today, will certainly help fill that void. The mirror-walled store at 101 Bedford Avenue is filled with pieces from creative directorNicola Formichetti's first collection for the brand, as well as a few products from other companies (like candles from Brooklyn Candle Studio) that make really good stocking stuffers. Which makes sense: the store will stay open until December, straight through the madness of holiday shopping season. (Racked NY)

Because there's no such thing as too many thoughtful brand collaborations, Public School and Killspencer announced this week that they've teamed up on two limited-edition bags. They're crafted from leather and have a waterproof nylon lining inside. They also have us thinking impure thoughts about luggage.(Complex)

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have devised a cure for the common fashion show. The Opening Ceremony founders wrangled Spike Jonze to write a one-act play for their Spring 2015 presentation, which will take place next month during New York Fashion Week. We just hope they serve popcorn. (Saint Heron)

Buying a pair of Guiseppe Zanotti sneakers is one thing. Having the man himself make you a one-of-a-kind red leather pair based on your own personal style is, as musician and actor Kid Cudi found out this week, quite another. (Sneaker Mob)

Don't you just love Saturdays? The brand named after our personal favorite day of the week will expand into small leather goods with a collection of bi-fold wallets, zip pouches, card holders, and belts that will reach stores (both digital and physical) on August 20. (Selectism)
