We Want It: Valextra's Delightfully Retro Eyewear Case

Because you could be doing a better job of protecting the things protecting your eyes.

We make a big deal about how well the best shades on the market keep our eyes safe. But Valextra's new leather glasses case is one of the most luxurious ways to shelter your specs we've seen in a long time.

The cases, which will be available at Barneys starting June 20, are an updated take on an archival design from the leathergoods house. And like pretty much everything else Valextra does, there's an understated charm with these cases, which for $320 will envelop the lenses of your favorite piece of eyewear in supple cream or blue leather. (The metallic-gray version, cut from lizard skin, goes for $1,150.) But when you think about it, it's a small price to pay to make sure your investment-quality goggles don't get scratched up at the beach, or in the bottom of your briefcase, or anywhere else, for that matter.
