The Watch: 1980s 18-karat-gold Rolex GMT-Master ll 1675

The Details: Stylish culinary entrepreneur Michael Chernow has wanted a vintage gold Rolex for as long as he can remember, but it wasn't until he was on The Nate Berkus Show a few years back and fell in love with the host's vintage gold Rolex Presidential that he really began the hunt to find the perfect watch for himself.

"I figure, if you're going to spend the money, make sure it's right," Chernow says. "After a year or so of lifting rocks, I found the watch of my dreams at Wanna Buy a Watch on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. They have an amazing selection of vintage Rolexes, and the service is fantastic." He adds, "Some people would say a gold Rolex is flashy, but if you dress it down with a leather strap, I think it looks stylish and low-key. Gold also happens to look nicer with my complexion."
