Kentucky Joe

Greg Seider of the Summit Bar in New York City uses a simple but inspired infusion of coffee and bourbon to make an eye-opening old-fashioned of sorts.

Ingredients

  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 1 dash aromatic bitters, such as Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel Aged Seltzer
  • 2 oz coffee-infused bourbon
  • 1 large orange twist

Preparation

  1. In a rocks glass, combine sugar, bitters, and a splash of seltzer. Muddle until sugar dissolves. Add bourbon and stir. Add three large ice cubes and stir again. Twist orange rind over the drink and use as a garnish.
