Fig-Cinnamon Syrup

This syrup is a perfect addition to our Vila Real red wine cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried Mission figs
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Preparation

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the figs are plump and the syrup is infused with cinnamon and fig flavors. Strain syrup, discarding figs and cinnamon, cover, and refrigerate for up to a week.
