Founded: New York City, 1998 (relaunched in 2010), by Pierre-Henri Mattout
Backstory: Mattout, a veteran of Dior, Dunhill, and Victorinox, revived his eponymous line after a two-year break.
Vibe: Contemporary, sophisticated dress clothes with sportswear elements like zippers and performance fabrics.
Buy This: The sweatpants, one of the few pairs you won't be embarrassed to wear.
Style Icon: "I love Serge Gainsbourg, because he was so provocative but very sensitive. I'm really inspired by that duality."
Favorite Store: "Melet Merchantile (a collectibles warehouse in New York City) is fantastic because it has crazy things like a World War II Japanese army jacket."
Style Pet Peeve: "White athletic socks with dark pants. Michael Jackson could do it, but no one else."
