Pierre-Henri Mattout

Founded: New York City, 1998 (relaunched in 2010), by Pierre-Henri Mattout
Backstory: Mattout, a veteran of Dior, Dunhill, and Victorinox, revived his eponymous line after a two-year break.
Vibe: Contemporary, sophisticated dress clothes with sportswear elements like zippers and performance fabrics.
Buy This: The sweatpants, one of the few pairs you won't be embarrassed to wear.
Style Icon: "I love Serge Gainsbourg, because he was so provocative but very sensitive. I'm really inspired by that duality."
Favorite Store: "Melet Merchantile (a collectibles warehouse in New York City) is fantastic because it has crazy things like a World War II Japanese army jacket."
Style Pet Peeve: "White athletic socks with dark pants. Michael Jackson could do it, but no one else."

Styling by Eugene Tong. Grooming by Anna Bernabe at Exclusive Artists using Dior Homme. Hair and makeup for Maria Cornejo by Rebecca Plymate at See Management using Leonor Greyl.
