Tom Ford recently caused a #menswear stir when the notoriously anti-sneaker designer released a line of kicks, among them a pair of black velvet pair with white soles. As stylish as the shoes may be, Ford isn't reinventing the wheel—he's simply joining the countless other brands that are doing the unthinkable: creating a shoe that's as comfortable as it is good-looking. Which apparently means a black upper and white sole.

In fact, if you can think of a brand, luxury or otherwise, they probably make a simple black sneaker with a white sole. And it's probably in the slideshow below.
