The Navy Tuxedo
In an era when men wore black dinner jackets, Edward VIII, the Duke of Windsor, wore midnight blue—claiming that the details registered more crisply in photographs. He called navy the truest black, and we think he was onto something.
Z Zegna designer Alessandro Sartori showcases a superior navy in this trim two-button double-breasted tux. While a traditional white pleated shirt is a good match, one with an ice-blue semi-spread collar is even better. Pair it with a black silk bow tie and black (non-patent) leather cap-toe shoes.
