Acer Aspire S5
Talk about a light sleeper. The elegant follow-up to the S3, the 15mm-thick S5 weighs just 2.97 pounds and wakes from sleep in 1.5 seconds. It also showcases some innovations in its solid metal chassis and "MagicFlip," a button that lowers a motorized drop-down port cover with additional inputs (USB 3.0, HDMI, and—a PC first—Thunderbolt interface). The system ties into the new AcerCloud service, which syncs media and files across devices, so no more wondering where those song files are ("On the other computer again?"). Quite possibly the thinnest ultrabook on the market, the S5 should be available in the spring.
